The Leadership Experience - Making Emerging Leaders
Camp LEAD (Leadership and  Education through Admiration and Dedication) is a summer camp for students ages  8 to 13.  Students will engage in a transnational program for five days.  It is designed to harness the students’ knowledge of responsible leadership.  Camp LEAD is comprised of a series of workshops and activities that will develop the students' critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and financial skills.
Students will attend the workshops listed below:
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Presentation Skills
  • Leadership Development
  • Bullying
  • Self Esteem
  • Street Drugs
  • Over the Counter Drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Hepatitis A, B and C
At Camp LEAD, students will develop the skills needed to lead others, grow in character and learn about the value in helping others.  Students will learn to challenge themselves and be ready to embark on a journey of leadership. Students are often asked to demonstrate their leadership skills.  We believe that a student cannot be a leader/role model without being taught the skills listed below:
  • communicate effectively
  • listen to others
  • formulate an opinion
  • debate a topic
  • navigate the waves of change
  • remain fluid and flexible
  • reach a consensus while still holding true to his/her beliefs
Camp LEAD challenges students physically on the ropes courses, mentally in the classroom, and emotionally as they learn to communicate with others.  An atmosphere is created where students facilitate their own learning and set goals in an experiential setting.  Students understand what their strengths are as leaders, the role they play on a team and how to bring out the best in others. Students discover what is possible with little to no resources, aside from their brain and their willingness to take action.
